PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA

A 52 year old Pennsylvania woman disrupted the family’s seder to question her daughter’s life choices. According to fellow attendees, Sophie Stein, 22, was reduced to tears during the event when Deborah Stein, the self-identified slave’s mother, spoke just loud enough for her daughter to hear.

The elder Stein took the opportunity during the eating of the bitter herbs, a traditional part of the seder symbolizing the bitterness of slavery, to add her own passive aggressive commentary to the Haggadah.

“How could you not be bitter? The way he treats her,” Mrs. Stein said to no one in particular, sending her daughter into tears.

“It’s just that she needs a nice man, not that khazer Frederick. A nice boy like little Marty Schwartz, Ruth’s boy. Now he made something of himself.” Mrs. Stein told The Daily Flogger.

“It comes up every year,” Sophie told us, “it’s always the same thing, ‘our people suffered for 200 years so you could be a slave?’ she tells me, but what she is really saying is that she doesn’t like Frederick.”

“He’s an optometrist, Marty Schwartz, with a very nice practice.  Maybe you can talk to her.  She won’t listen to me,” Mrs. Stein said.  “By the way, she’s killing me, you might want to tell her that.”
