Sheila Brunggle, 27, was shocked when her comments about her pregnancy came under fire.

“I told the table I didn’t care if it was a Dom or a sub, just as long as it wasn’t a switch,” Brunggle told The Daily Flogger.  “I was accused of all sorts of things, including being insensitive to switches and not really understanding the kink community.”

Brunggle, who has chosen not to learn the sex of her baby, asked her OBGYN to see if genetic screening was available for BDSM orientation, but was told that no such test exists.

“A lot of people think it is a cultural thing or maybe a learned behavior, but I really worry that my child will be confused if they aren’t raised either as a dominant or submissive.  We live in a very uncertain world, and I don’t want their BDSM orientation to add to that.”

Kevin McNally, a 45 year old switch was also at the munch, but didn’t find the comments offensive.  “She just wants best for her child.  Who can blame her for that?  Being a switch is tough at times, she just wants to spare her child that.”

Tina Quint, 22, couldn’t disagree more.  “There is a stigma about switches, especially in our local community.  Comments like this just add to that.  I am proud to be a switch.  Well not exactly proud.  Sometimes I am ashamed.  I kinda go back and forth.  But I know for sure we don’t need more people putting us down”
