HGTV will be launching a new series, “Flip This, Bitch,” featuring real life BDSM couple Master Herman Jenkins and his slave wife Judy.
Jenkins, who is also a full time contractor, pitched the idea to HGTV a year ago. The premise is to turn regular houses into fully functioning BDSM dungeons.
HGTV executive Grant Berks said the network has been looking for something edgy for the network, but admitted it was a risk. “After the failure of PBS’s The Old Dungeon, we weren’t sure this kind of show was viable. But that was before 50 Shades of Gray and the whole shift in thinking about exploiting the BDSM culture in mainstream media.”
Jenkins is hopeful he can bring the perfect blend of home renovation and kink to the network.
Slave Judy’s role will mostly to be punished for her poor design choices and be told to “shut her fucking mouth” during most episodes.
“Real BDSM people are looking for good solid equipment that will last,” Jenkins said, “they don’t give a shit about Travertine tile or oil rubbed bronze pulls on cabinets, they just want a place to play.”
