OXFORD, ENGLAND

In a surprise announcement today, Daniel Mortenson, an editor for the Oxford English Dictionary announced the inclusion of “Leatheriness” in the 2015 edition.

“Leatheriness,” Mortenson explained, “is the quality of claiming to be Leather, without actually behaving in ways that conform to the high standards of honor and integrity to which the community holds its members.”

The word was selected as its use has become more and more widespread in relation to conferences and events in the US where people are “claiming to be Leather, but acting like total douchebags.”
